The body, mind and soul of a child sold into sexual slavery is completely damaged. When rescued, the child requires medical support to take care of multiple sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS and for de-addiction. A series of psycho-social care including professional counseling and group & individual therapy is provided for healing. Age appropriate education and recreational programmes are provided. Prajwala has constructed a therapeutic shelter home Astha Nivas (children’s home) for victims of commercial sexual exploitation, which provides a wide range of holistic services in the areas of education, healthcare, recreation and counselling by a dedicated team. The shelter operates a 24-hour residential rehabilitation programme for mental, spiritual and emotional healing and development. The donation will be utilized for the monthly cost of taking care of one child victim which includes medical care, food, education and specialized counselling.
